Platform Navigation

This is an overview of Interact’s key features, which enable you to efficiently navigate and manage claims and tasks.

Homepage

From the homepage, you can access simplified views of your task list and claims and get basic data on team performance.

Logging In

Your username is displayed on the top right hand corner of the screen. To log out, click on it and click “Sign Out”. You will be presented with a confirmation dialogue, which ensures you don’t log out while a system is still underway.

Employee Profile

Under your profile, you will see settings that enable you to toggle notifications and emails and to reset your password. We encourage you to leave notifications turned on.

Protocol Register

Under the protocol register, you will see a list of protocols used in the Interact system, as well as any documents necessary in the processing of claims according to those protocols - for example, the MoJ Quantum process requires an interest calculator, which can be downloaded in Excel format from this register or from the System Documents area within the claim itself.

Reporting Ribbon

Along the top of the homepage is the reporting ribbon, which presents basic data about your work in progress, from your drafts through to all claims in the assessment (arbitration or neutral evaluation) stage.

Tasks & Claims Tabs

The main area in the homepage consists of two summary tabs:

  1. Tasks, which shows a summary view of the tasks assigned to teams you are a member of.
  2. Claims, which offers a summary view of claims being processed in teams you are a member of.

Under the Tasks tab, you will see a row of horizontal sub-tabs:

  1. “All” lists all the tasks belonging to your team(s).
  2. “Due Today” lists tasks that will become due today.
  3. “Overdue” lists tasks that are overdue and in the grace period but not escalating today.
  4. “Escalating Today” lists tasks which will automatically escalate to the next user task or system-defined action within 24 hours.

When you create a draft, a task is automatically created for you to complete it. That is why you will see draft claims under the tasks tab. (You are by default given two weeks to complete a draft.)

If you do not want to proceed with a draft, you can delete it by opening the draft and clicking on the kebab menu on the top right hand corner of your screen. And clicking Delete. No record is kept of deleted drafts and deletion is final.

Interface Symbols and Colours

Interact uses colour accents and user interface elements to indicate new information, as well as the state of claims and tasks.

Yellow is used to alert you to new or important information. Yellow dots on the top right hand corner of a tab indicate something requiring your attention. Below, you can see at a glance that you are being directed to the Documents and Position tabs.

When a claim is referred to you, you’ll see a grey pipe symbol to the left of the task description and a button to the right labelled “+ Assign To Me”

Once you have clicked “+ Assign To Me”, the pipe will turn yellow and in place of the button your name will appear within an yellow pill, both indicating to you that you are now the task owner.

If you assign a task to yourself in error, you can navigate to the claim and use the kebab menu to access the “Unassign” option, which will return the claim to the team backlog.

Task Highlighting

Tasks are highlighted on a traffic light system to help you keep on top of what is most urgent.

  1. Green indicates tasks that are with your team to be completed and are within their normal task period.
  2. Yellow indicates a task that is within the task period and is due today.
  3. Red indicates tasks that are overdue (and therefore in the grace period) and or escalating today. (To see which are escalating today, click the sub-tab labelled “Escalating Today”.)
  4. Grey indicates tasks to complete a Draft Claim.

Claims inside your organisation will either show a team member’s name within a grey pill beside them and a grey pipe, or they will show your name beside them in a yellow pill and a yellow pipe.

Claims outside your organisation are indicated by an outlined pill and a description of the party that must perform the next task. For example, you may see “Nuvalaw Admin” or “Arbitrator” or the name of the opposing organisation in the arbitration, in this example “Pyramid Insurance”.

To see further details of who referred a claim, such as the user’s name and the team to which they belong, open the claim and navigate to the claim summary tab.

If your team is responsible for the next task but it is not yet assigned to someone, you will see the “+ Assign To Me” button. Here the claim is with the arbitrator and requires no action from you.
