Supplying Supplementary Information

Learn how to supply supplementary information at the arbitrator's request

The arbitrator is permitted to request that a party supply supplementary information for the clarification of a claim made by the claimant or a response to a claim made by the defendant.

This request feature may not be used by the arbitrator to invite any further evidence, nor is any party entitled to provide any further evidence in response to a request for clarification by the arbitrator.

Reviewing the Arbitrator’s Request for Supplementary Information

When the arbitrator makes their request, you will receive a task entitled “Review Arbitrator Request For Supplementary Information”.

To review the request, assign the task to yourself and navigate to the requests sub-tab of the claim summary tab [1]. Yellow dots on the tab and sub-tab [2] guide you to the new information you need to review.

Click "View Request" [3] to review the request and respond to it.

Details of the request by the arbitrator are recorded at the top [1] and a place is offered for you to respond [2] and to upload a document as part of your response [3].

During the request process, the arbitrator will not proceed with making their award until you have responded or your task to respond has elapsed.

When you make your response, it will first go to the other party for a review.

Reviewing a Party’s Response to the Arbitrator’s Request For Supplementary Information

Once you have completed your review, the task will revert to the arbitrator and they will be permitted to continue preparation of their award.
